Rúben Amorim is edging closer to a return to the dugout. Free since leaving Manchester United last January, the Portuguese coach initially had no plans to take over a new team before the 2027-2028 season.

But AC Milan's interest appears to have changed everything. According to multiple reports, talks between both parties have gone positively, and the 41-year-old tactician has apparently agreed to join the Rossoneri. A contract until 2029 is said to be ready, with a salary estimated at four million euros per season. All that's missing is the final approval from Milan's management to make the move official.

If his appointment is confirmed, Amorim would make a swift return to the touchline after only a few months away from football. Meanwhile, Manchester United would also benefit financially by ending the severance payments to their former manager and his staff.
