Rushine de Reuck nets as Simba SC continue winning streak

Steve Barker's Simba SC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Singida Black Stars in the NBC Tanzania Premier League over the weekend.

Zambian attacking midfielder Clatous Chama opened the scoring in the 13th minute, making it back-to-back goals in the league.

The home team restored parity through Shekhani Khamis, who beat Hussein Abel in the Simba goal 11 minutes later.

Having went to half-time on level terms, Simba regained their lead thanks to captain Rushine de Reuck, who converted from the spot in the 62nd minute.

Simba, however, finished the game with a numerical disadvantage as defender Anthony Mligo received his marching orders six minutes from time.

Barker's men are currently on a three-game winning streak in the league, having accumulated nine points from their opening matches.

Notably, the Reds of Msimbazi are level on points with fierce rivals, Manqoba Mngqithi's Young Africans, who have a superior goal difference.

The 22-time Tanzanian champions return to action with a league clash against 14th-placed Coastal Union on Thursday, 27 August.
