As rumors linking Mohamed Salah to Beşiktaş gather momentum, the Egyptian international has received an indirect warning from Kerem Demirbay.

The Kasımpaşa midfielder praised the former Liverpool star's talent while reminding everyone that the Turkish league has seen many big names fail to make their mark.

"Be careful": Demirbay warns Salah ahead of Beşiktaş arrival

According to the Turkish daily “Cumhuriyet”, Kerem Demirbay spoke out about the rumors of Mohamed Salah’s possible move to the Süper Lig. The midfielder began by expressing his admiration for the Egyptian national team captain.

"I have immense respect for Mohamed Salah. I don’t compare players, but our league has already welcomed legends like Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder, as well as Turkish stars such as Emre Belözoğlu and Arda Turan. Their presence contributed a lot to Turkish football, but Salah should know that many big names have come through Turkey before him," he said.

Demirbay then emphasized the demanding nature of the Süper Lig, which he considers tougher than it appears.

"Personally, I found the Bundesliga easier. Everyone knows the Turkish league is extremely competitive. The level is high and there are plenty of quality players," he explained.

The Kasımpaşa player also discussed the constant pressure from supporters and the media.

"If you put together a string of good performances, you can stay at the top for several seasons. On the other hand, if you hit a rough patch—even as a global superstar—the criticism is immediate. That’s what makes this league so unique," he added.

Finally, Demirbay concluded with a message that clearly serves as a warning for Mohamed Salah.

"Many world-class players have come to Turkey, but a lot have left without meeting expectations. Some were even judged by the media as lacking what it takes to succeed in our league."
