Sanfrecce Hiroshima: Sébastien Haller’s mission

Officially unveiled on July 24, Sébastien Haller embarks on a new chapter in Japan with Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The club’s objective is clear: make the Ivorian striker the centerpiece of their J-League attack.

Keisuke Kurihara, the sporting director, outlined the three main reasons behind this choice. "First, his eye for goal and clinical finishing. We were looking for a player who can score consistently, and he undoubtedly fits the bill. Second, we want him to bring his top-level experience to the squad. The third reason, and the most important, is his personality, which perfectly matches the club’s footballing philosophy and values."

The mission goes beyond goals—Sanfrecce expects Haller to elevate the entire squad. His experience in the Champions League, Bundesliga, and Premier League is set to be a model for the club’s younger players.
