Saudi Pro League wants the Ballon d'Or

Al-Hilal continues its relentless pursuit of the biggest stars in world football. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Saudi club has contacted the representatives of Ousmane Dembélé to explore a possible transfer.

PSG wants to keep its player

Having joined PSG in 2023 from FC Barcelona, Dembélé has quickly become one of the team’s most crucial assets. The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, the French international is coming off another impressive season with 10 goals and 7 assists in 22 league matches.

Under contract until 2028, the 29-year-old doesn’t appear to be on the verge of leaving. Just last June, RMC Sport reported that talks were underway to extend his deal with PSG. For now, there have been no negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain. Al-Hilal is waiting for the player’s decision before making a formal offer to the French club.

What’s next?

Al-Hilal’s interest once again underlines the ambition of Saudi clubs to lure the world’s top footballing talent. However, persuading PSG to part ways with their Ballon d'Or winner looks to be a particularly tall order. Unless the player changes his stance or an extraordinary offer comes in, the Parisian club is expected to do everything in its power to keep one of its main attacking assets.
