Sébastien Haller, a fleeting adventure at FC Utrecht?
Loaned to FC Utrecht this winter, Sébastien Haller might already be packing his bags at the end of the season. Coach Ron Jans, speaking on the show Goedemorgen Eredivisie on ESPN, hinted that the chances of the Ivorian striker extending his stay are slim.
"It has to do with money. I would like him to stay longer. But, for that, we depend on other parties. I am not working on it at the moment, but he is welcome," said the FC Utrecht coach. Having scored only one goal in nine appearances, Sébastien Haller is struggling to regain his form in the Eredivisie, a league where he had previously made a name for himself. Between lack of rhythm and difficult adaptation, the 30-year-old striker has yet to meet the expectations of the Dutch club.
Still under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2026, Haller might explore other options this summer. A return to the Bundesliga, another loan, or even a move to another league are possibilities on the table.
