Senegal officially announces the departure of Pape Thiaw

The Senegalese Football Federation has just officially announced the end of Pape Thiaw's tenure.

Just days after the Lions of Teranga were knocked out in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup by Belgium, Senegalese decision-makers determined that it was time for new blood at the helm of the national team. The decision was confirmed by the official account of the Senegalese national team.

"Thank you, Coach Pape Thiaw. Our paths part ways today, but the memories and legacy you leave behind will continue to inspire. We wish you every success in the next chapter of your career. Thank you for everything, Coach." the statement read.
