Serie A: Como, Roma, AC Milan and Juventus, the big losers of matchday 6

Como, AS Roma, AC Milan and Juventus all dropped points on matchday 6 of Serie A, played on October 10 and 11, 2026. While all four teams were held to draws, Inter Milan and Lazio took advantage of their victories to strengthen their positions at the top of the table.

Como and AS Roma could not be separated at the Stadio Giuseppe-Sinigaglia (0-0). The match was notably marked by Donyell Malen’s 53rd-minute red card, which forced the Romans to finish the game with ten men.

Despite this advantage, Como failed to find a way through. Roma goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini stood out in particular by keeping out a dangerous effort from Nico Paz in the 72nd minute.

The result left both teams with regrets. Roma, who could have closed the gap on Inter with a win, missed the opportunity to move level with the leaders. Como, for their part, failed to make home advantage count.

AC Milan let two points slip away at Sassuolo

AC Milan were also held away from home. Up against Sassuolo, the Rossoneri had to settle for a 1-1 draw despite Adrien Rabiot’s 63rd-minute opener.

Set up after a move involving Luka Modrić, the French midfielder put Milan ahead. Sassuolo nevertheless responded five minutes later through Cas Odenthal, who restored parity.

With this result, Milan have 12 points after six matchdays. The Lombardy club remain among the chasing pack but are now four points behind Inter and Lazio, who both won their matches this weekend.

Juventus held by Cagliari

Juventus did no better. Away at Cagliari, the Old Lady drew 1-1 after falling behind.

Daniel Maldini put the Sardinians ahead in the 20th minute. The Turin side had to wait until the 81st minute to equalise through Randal Kolo Muani, whose header spared his team defeat.

The closing stages were tense, with both coaches, Luciano Spalletti and Fabio Pisacane, sent off following a confrontation. The point takes Juventus’ tally to 11. Like Como, they let two points slip away and missed the opportunity to close the gap on the teams at the top.

Inter and Lazio extend their lead

The slip-ups by their rivals worked in favour of Inter Milan and Lazio. On Saturday, October 10, Inter defeated Parma 3-0, thanks in particular to goals from Petar Sučić, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Marcus Thuram.

The following day, Lazio beat Monza 3-1. Nuno Tavares and Gustav Isaksen quickly gave the Romans a two-goal lead before Andrea Pinamonti sealed the victory late on.

After six matchdays, Inter and Lazio each have 16 points. Roma follow on 14, ahead of Cagliari on 13, while AC Milan have 12 points. Como and Juventus have 11.

The results from this matchday therefore strengthen the position of the two leaders. For Roma, Milan, Como and Juventus, the challenge will be to return to winning ways in the next round in order to prevent the leading duo from extending their advantage further.

Roma will host Genoa on October 17. The following day, Como will travel to Florence to face Fiorentina, AC Milan will host Atalanta and Juventus will welcome Lazio in a fixture that could have a bearing on the race for the top places.
