Shevchenko’s son changes clubs in England
Kristian Shevchenko will continue his career in the lower divisions of English football. The son of former Ballon d’Or winner Andriy Shevchenko, who is nearly 20 years old, has officially joined FC Sholing, a club competing in the seventh tier of English football.
A new chapter after Watford
Kristian Shevchenko left Watford’s youth teams during the summer, having also spent part of his development at Tottenham and Chelsea. Since leaving the Hornets, the young forward had been looking for a new club. He has finally reached an agreement with FC Sholing, with whom he is now under contract until June 2027.
Born into a strong footballing tradition through his father, Kristian Shevchenko has also represented Ukraine at youth level. He notably took part in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship and the Under-20 World Cup with the Ukrainian national team. His career has not yet progressed as hoped, however, with his departure from Watford last summer leaving him without a club for several weeks.
Target: relaunching his career
With Sholing, Shevchenko will attempt to regain playing time and revive his development. The club currently sits in the lower half of the Southern League Premier South table, ten points behind the leaders.
His new forward will therefore be tasked with helping the team climb the table and potentially challenge for promotion. For the son of the former AC Milan and Chelsea striker, this experience represents another step in a career that is still taking shape.
