Siwelele FC advances for Zimbabwean star rebuffed

Foot Africa has established that Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC had their advances for CAPS United attacking midfielder Kundai Benyu rebuffed.

The highly-rated Zimbabwe international returned to his native country in January 2025 after spending years in the wilderness following his exit from Besta deild in Iceland.

Furthermore, he has spent a chunk of his career in England with Ipswich Town, Aldershot, Oldham Athletic, Wealdstone, and Scottish giants Celtic Glasgow.

He scored three goals in his last three matches in the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) for CAPS, who are in sixth place with 35 points.

Now, a well-placed source has told this publication that the Zimbabwean outfit rejected Siwelele's offer for Benyu, who has attracted interest across the continent.

Notably, the 28-year-old is in the final six months of his contract, but CAPS are actively working around the clock to secure his future beyond his current deal.

It's understood that Siwelele are looking to lure the player to the lucrative Betway Premiership via a pre-contract, but face North African competition.

Whether the Bloemfontein-based team, coached by Lehlonolo Seema, will land Benyu remains to be seen, with the 2026/27 season fast approaching.
