Siwelele FC bid for highly-rated striker rejected

Foot Africa has been informed that Betway Premiership outfit Siwelele FC had their opening bid for Mighty Gunners striker Muyeka Mashiku rejected.

The 25-year-old highly-rated striker is subject to concrete interest across the continent after a stellar 2025/26 campaign in the Debmarine Nambia Premier League.

Mashiku finished the season as the top scorer, having netted a staggering 18 goals with seven assists in 30 league outings on his debut in the topflight.

His exploits naturally attracted a host of suitors, with teams from Tanzania, Libya, and Zimbabwe lodging formal enquires over the acquisition of his services.

This publication has been led to believe that Siwelele FC submitted an opening offer north of R120 000, including a significant 10% sell-on clause.

Gunners, however, are understood to be holding out for a fee in the region of R500 000, citing Maskhiku's undeniable potential and performance in his breakthrough campaign.

The Bloemfontein-based outfit is expected to return with an improved bid as they look to bolster the attack after parting ways with several forwards ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Notably, the player recently made his international debut for the Namibia senior national team during the FIFA series in the March international break, earning two caps.

Whether the two teams strike an agreement over Mashiku's transfer to the Betway Premiership remains to be seen, with personal terms not expected to be a hurdle.
