Spain: Lamine Yamal discusses his meteoric rise

Lamine Yamal will be one of the most anticipated players at the 2026 World Cup.

A meteoric rise that has even surprised the player himself, as he revealed to AS newspaper. In fact, back in 2022, only a handful of people knew about Lamine Yamal. But by 2026, he’s already a global star.

"It feels like I’ve been playing for ten years, but it’s only been three. Four years ago, I was playing with my friends at the neighborhood sports center… Imagine, a kid who was playing with you at the center three years ago is now going to play in the World Cup! It’s crazy, truly crazy," said the young FC Barcelona player.
