Mamelodi Sundowns secured a last-gasp 3-2 win in their Betway Premiership clash against TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night.

Masandawana broke the deadlock seven minutes after the first whistle, with Brayan Leon converting from the spot after Tashreeq Matthews was was fouled.

Victor Letsoalo restored parity in the 33rd minute, pouncing on an error from the Sundowns defence as he beat Ronwen Williams in the Downs goal.

The 33-year-old centre-forward gave the Tshwane giants a scare after netting his second of the match in the 77th minute, giving The Rockets a 2-1 lead.

Sphelele Mkhulise, who entered the fray in the 63rd minute, levelled matters two minutes from time after connecting with a Khuliso Mudau cross.

The midfield maestro completed his brace deep in stoppage time, pouncing on a cut-back from Mudau yet again, which gave Sundowns maximum points.

Sundowns, as a result, climbed to fourth place with three points on the Betway Premiership table, while Galaxy are in 11th place with a single point.

Miguel Cardoso's men will now travel to FNB Stadium where they are set to lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs in their next league outing on Saturday, 15 August.
