According to the local Belgian press, Standard Liège has been monitoring and gathering information on Yoan Bayano Zibi for several months. The Rouches are reportedly impressed by his performances in the Cameroonian second division with Apejes de Mfou and his call-up to the national A' team.

Standard Liège, in search of young talents with high potential, sees Zibi as a cost-effective investment opportunity. Zibi would first join SL16, Standard's U23 team, to gradually adapt to the European level before moving up to the pro team.

Discussions between Standard Liège and Apejes de Mfou are currently underway, according to several sources. The Belgian club hopes to finalize the transfer of 18-year-old Yoan Bayano Zibi before the official opening of the summer market.
