Stellenbosch FC are delighted to have signed Thabiso Lebitso!
Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the arrival of Thabiso Lebitso, with the Orlando Pirates defender making a permanent move to the Cape Winelands club.
The right‑back, who played a supporting role during his time at Pirates, leaves having been part of a treble‑winning squad. Competition for minutes proved challenging at the Soweto giants, with Deno Van Rooyen and Kamohelo Sebelebele often preferred under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
A fresh start at Stellies offers Lebitso the chance to reconnect with a familiar face. He will reunite with Gavin Hunt, who previously coached him at Chippa United three seasons ago.
“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the acquisition of Thabiso Lebitso on a permanent transfer from Orlando Pirates,” the club confirmed in a statement.
“Stellenbosch FC has bolstered its squad ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign by acquiring the services of versatile defender Thabiso Lebitso on a long‑term deal. Lebitso spent the last two seasons with Orlando Pirates, where he helped the Buccaneers win the Betway Premiership, Carling Knockout, and back‑to‑back MTN8 titles.”
Club CEO Rob Benadie welcomed the defender’s arrival.
“He is a player who has consistently demonstrated his quality at the highest level of South African football and brings a valuable mix of experience and versatility to our squad,” said Benadie.
