Sundowns officially announce the departure of Peter Shalulile... will Espérance be his next destination?
The South African club Mamelodi Sundowns officially announced this Thursday, July 2, the departure of their Namibian striker Peter Shalulile at the end of his contract, thus bringing to a close an exceptional six-season journey in the colors of the “Brazilians.”
Arriving in the summer of 2020 from Highlands Park, Shalulile quickly established himself as one of the most iconic players in the club’s recent history.
At 32, the striker leaves behind a remarkable record of 107 goals and 27 assists in 228 appearances across all competitions.
During his time at Mamelodi Sundowns, the Namibian international enriched his trophy cabinet with five South African Premier Division titles, a CAF Champions League (2025-2026), a Nedbank Cup, an MTN8 Cup, and the African Football League.
On an individual level, Shalulile also racked up numerous accolades. He was twice named South African Premier Division Player of the Season, won the Golden Boot three times, and finished as top scorer of the CAF Champions League in the 2022-2023 season.

This departure for Shalulile coincides with rumors linking him with Espérance de Tunis during this summer transfer window, although no official announcement has been made yet regarding his next club.
