Tanko Confident as Medeama SC Gears Up for Ghana Premier League Return
Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko's expressed his excitement over the return of football in Ghana following month long suspension of the Ghana Premier League. The break came after the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan which disrupted the season’s momentum.
Focus on Strong Comeback
With action set to resume this weekend, Medeama'll host Bechem United at TNA stadium in crucial Week 23 encounter. Tanko remains optimistic about his side’s chances assuring fans of competitive and determined squad.
“We're very happy that football's coming back. It was unfortunate that we'd to pause but now we'll play every week again and I believe we'll make our fans happy this weekend” Tanko said.
Medeama’s Title Ambitions
Despite their disappointing exit from the MTN FA Cup after Round of 16 loss to PAC Academy, Medeama's determined to reignite their title challenge. Tanko praised his players’ commitment in training and emphasized their readiness for the league’s return.
“The way the boys trained this week, the effort they put in, gives me confidence that we'll deliver strong performance. We almost have everyone available and we're very ready for this game”.
GFA Implements New Safety Measures
Following the recent tragic events, the ghana football association GFA's introduced new security protocols to combat hooliganism. Clubs now required to appoint security officers and install CCTV cameras at match venues with non compliance resulting in fines and possible venue bans.
