Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Miguel Inacio has heaped praise on fellow defender Thabo Moloisane following the new arrival's encouraging debut in Saturday's tightly contested 1-1 stalemate with Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.

Moloisane, who joined Amakhosi on a free transfer back in July, was thrust straight into the starting lineup and delivered a composed performance at the heart of the backline, forging an effective partnership alongside Inacio and Zitha Kwinika.

Speaking to FARPost, the Portuguese-born defender expressed his admiration for his new teammate's instant impact and unwavering commitment to the collective cause. "Regarding Thabo, you can see that he's a player who's very committed to the team," Inacio remarked. "That's the kind of player I like. I'm happy with the signing of Thabo. He's someone who will give us something during this season."

The Glamour Boys have been active in the transfer market, bringing in five fresh faces over the window, and the early signs suggest the overhaul is bearing fruit. Their promising start to the Betway Premiership campaign has seen them climb to second spot on the table, trailing only pacesetters Orlando Pirates, with the share of spoils against the reigning champions serving as a clear statement of intent.

Inacio was equally effusive about another recent acquisition, 21-year-old winger Langelihle Phili, who has caught the eye with his energetic displays and notched his maiden goal for the club against Sundowns. "I can see in him that he's a player capable of helping us. Not only him; all the players have to step up, like Langelihle Phili [against Sekhukhune United]," Inacio added. "He just played his first game as a starter."

With Moloisane bringing a blend of experience and defensive leadership to the squad, the stage appears set for him to play an instrumental role should Chiefs harbour genuine ambitions of challenging for silverware this term.
