Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is on the verge of making history in the PSL!

Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is now on the brink of etching his name into South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) history, needing just one more goal after continuing his extraordinary scoring streak for AmaZulu.

The 23-year-old Zimbabwean striker was on target once more on Saturday, firing AmaZulu to a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City — a result that stretched his run to seven straight Betway Premiership games with a goal.

With that latest effort, Ngwenya has now found the net in every single league fixture AmaZulu have contested this season.

Approaching a historic number

Ngwenya's reliability in front of goal has been among the defining storylines of AmaZulu's opening to the campaign.
While he has found the net in seven successive league outings, his overall tally actually exceeds seven, given that he has already struck twice in a single match.

He now sits on eight Betway Premiership goals for the season.

This means Ngwenya has scored in each of his league appearances for Usuthu, cementing his status as one of the division's most dependable attacking players.

His most recent goal, against Polokwane City, carried particular weight, as it separated the two sides and delivered another three points for AmaZulu.

The Zimbabwean, currently away on national duty in Morocco, is aware that one more goal could take him past Young and Kanyenda and see him claim the record outright.

It would represent a stunning feat for a player who has risen to become one of AmaZulu's foremost attacking threats this season.

For the time being, Ngwenya has equalled a record that has endured since 2002.
