The Malian Football Federation appoints Anthony Da Silva as the new first-team coach!

A new chapter has begun for Malian football. The country's football federation has officially appointed Anthony Da Silva as the man to lead the national team, known as the Eagles, into the future. The Franco-Portuguese coach has signed a three-year deal, signaling a long-term commitment from both sides.

The objectives laid out before Da Silva are ambitious, to say the least. His first major task will be to secure Mali's place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. But the federation expects more than just participation—they want a deep run, targeting at least a semi-final finish. Looking even further ahead, Da Silva has also been charged with the mission of taking Mali to the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

To help him achieve these goals, Da Silva will work alongside four assistant coaches. The federation has also made it clear that he will be based full-time in Bamako. This permanent presence in the capital is intended to give him a closer connection to the local game, allowing for better oversight of player development and stronger ties with domestic football institutions.
