This 17-year-old Cameroonian on trial in Sweden

Mathis Kengne is continuing his development in Sweden. The young Cameroonian player, born in 2009, has arrived in Skåne for a trial with Landskrona BoIS, who currently compete in the Superettan, Sweden’s second division.

A month-long trial in Sweden

Landskrona BoIS announced on social media that Mathis Kengne had arrived and would spend the entire upcoming month with the club, where he will be assessed by its staff. The 17-year-old Cameroonian primarily plays as a wing-back or winger. He will therefore have several weeks to showcase his abilities and try to convince the Swedish club’s officials to continue the adventure with him.

Mathis Kengne’s status is also an important factor in this matter. Born in 2009, the young player will turn 18 next year. Under the rules, a player from a country outside the European Union must be of legal age to be recruited by a Swedish club. His time at Landskrona therefore represents a first step for the young Cameroonian, who will have to make the most of this trial period to make an impression and continue his development in Europe.
