Toni Kroos is preparing for his big comeback!
At 36, Toni Kroos wants to become a coach and has begun the process of joining a course run by the Spanish Football Federation.
Toni Kroos is already preparing for his return to football, but this time from the bench. Retired since 2024, the former Real Madrid midfielder has decided to embark on a coaching career and has begun the necessary procedures with the Spanish Football Federation.
At 36, the German wants to join a course specifically designed for former professional players in order to complete his qualifications. Kroos already holds a diploma allowing him to coach up to the third tier, but he does not yet have the licence required to manage a top-flight team.
A course scheduled for the 2027-2028 season
The former Germany international is now targeting the course scheduled for the 2027-2028 season. It should enable him to obtain the UEFA A Licence and gradually continue his development towards the very highest level.
This new step marks a logical progression for a player who spent much of his career at the summit of European football. With Real Madrid, Kroos notably won several Champions League titles and Spanish league titles, after also shining at Bayern Munich.
An impressive trophy haul before moving to the bench
Kroos ended his playing career after Euro 2024, bringing an exceptional journey to a close, marked by a World Cup victory with Germany in 2014 and numerous club trophies.
It remains to be seen when he will take his first steps on a professional bench. His objective is clear: to progress through the stages of his training one by one before being able to aspire to manage a team at the highest level.
