Real Madrid: all doubts about Kylian Mbappé have been dispelled
After suffering a knee injury with France, Kylian Mbappé has fully returned to training and should start against Villarreal on Saturday.
Kylian Mbappé is ready to return to competitive action. After a turbulent international break marked by a knee injury, the Real Madrid forward provided reassurance in training. According to Marca, the Frenchman took part in the entire team session on Wednesday at full intensity, dispelling the final doubts about his physical condition.
The Madrid No. 10 is therefore expected to start on Saturday against Villarreal when La Liga resumes. This is good news for José Mourinho ahead of an important run of matches, including the Clasico against FC Barcelona scheduled for October 25.
A knee scare now behind him
Mbappé was released early by the France team after their 1-0 victory over Turkey in the Nations League. The all-time leading scorer for Les Bleus scored in that match, but felt pain in his knee and returned to Madrid to continue his recovery.
Initial examinations revealed hyperextension of the left knee, with no serious injury. After gradually returning to individual work, the Frenchman has now rejoined the squad at full capacity.
Already eight goals for Real this season
His return is all the more eagerly anticipated because Mbappé has made an excellent start to the 2026-2027 season. In the league, he has already recorded 7 goals and 2 assists in 7 matches, all of them as a starter.
He also scored in his only appearance in the Champions League, taking his tally to 8 goals in 8 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid. Before Villarreal and then the Clasico, Mourinho is therefore getting his main attacking asset back at the ideal time.
