Transfer: Akram Tawfik Edges Closer to Al Ahly Return

Egyptian midfielder Akram Tawfik is on the verge of completing a return to Al Ahly during the current summer transfer window.

The move gathered pace on Wednesday after Al Shamal SC officially announced the player's departure clearing the way for a reunion with the Egyptian giants.

Al Ahly Finalizing Akram Tawfik Deal

According to several Egyptian media outlets, including reports from renowned journalist Ahmed Shobier, Al Ahly has reached a preliminary agreement with Al Shamal to complete all the necessary procedures related to the termination of the player's contract.

While the official announcement is still pending, Al Ahly continue their pre-season training camp in Spain where they take on CF Badalona in their first friendly match on Wednesday.

Akram Tawfik enjoyed a highly successful spell with Al Ahly, making 145 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing seven assists.

The Egypt international also played a key role in one of the club's most successful eras, helping Al Ahly win six Egyptian Premier League titles, three Egypt Cups, three CAF Champions League trophies, three Egyptian Super Cups, and one CAF Super Cup.
