Transfer: André Ayew takes on a new challenge in the Netherlands!

Ghanaian international André Ayew has made an official decision about his future by signing with a club in the Dutch league.

At 36 years old, the striker has inked a one-year deal with NAC Breda, a side competing in the Eredivisie, arriving on a free transfer.

In a statement published on their official website, the club revealed that in recent months, Ayew had turned down several offers—despite some being considered attractive—after remaining a free agent since last summer.

Currently at the bottom of the Eredivisie table, NAC Breda clarified: "André Ayew played his last official matches in May 2025 with Le Havre. Since then, he has kept up his fitness by training with Ghanaian side Nania FC, owned by his father and African football legend, Abedi Pelé."

The club, founded in 1912, continued: "The Ghanaian international boasts an impressive record, with over 120 caps and 24 goals for his country. He has also left his mark at clubs like Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United."

"André Ayew has featured in nearly 600 official matches across various competitions—including the Champions League, Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Premier League, Championship, and Turkey's Süper Lig—scoring more than 160 goals in total," NAC Breda added.

The statement concluded: "André Ayew will join the squad led by head coach Carl Hoefkens with immediate effect. NAC will resume training on Friday, 2 January at the B O Infra complex in Zundert."

It's worth noting that last season, André Ayew played 28 matches in all competitions for Le Havre, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
