Transfer: Arsenal looking to sign Jules Koundé
According to several Spanish media outlets, Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation of French defender Jules Koundé (27) and are considering making a move during this summer transfer window to bolster their defensive lineup.
Jules Koundé draws strong interest from Arsenal
The Gunners are heading into the new season with great ambitions after clinching the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta. However, despite reaching the Champions League final, the London side fell short against Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Spanish daily Sport, Jules Koundé's versatility is particularly appealing to Arsenal. Able to play both as a central defender and at right-back, the French international fits perfectly the profile the club's management is seeking.
FC Barcelona, who extended Koundé's contract until June 2030 in the summer of 2025, are not keen to part ways with their defender. However, an offer exceeding €60 million could prompt the Catalan board to consider a potential transfer.
Since arriving in Catalonia in the summer of 2022, Jules Koundé has quickly established himself as one of Barça's key figures. Since his arrival, he has played 188 matches in all competitions, scored 10 goals, and won seven trophies.
