Chelsea officially confirmed on Monday the departure of their Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid as part of the summer transfer window.

In a statement published on its official channels, the London club announced: "Marc Cucurella has permanently joined Real Madrid."

The Blues also paid tribute to their now-former player: "Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Marc for his efforts during his time at the club and for the important role he played in our recent successes."

For their part, Real Madrid confirmed the deal on their official website. The Merengues stated they had reached an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of the Spanish international.

Marc Cucurella has signed with Los Blancos for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032.
