Transfer market: Did Lucas Ribeiro's move to Espérance fall through?

A stunning twist in the African transfer market. After arriving in Tunisia on July 21 to finalize his move, it now appears that Lucas Ribeiro will ultimately not be joining Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

The 27-year-old Brazilian was on the verge of signing, having already given his approval and traveled to Tunisia. However, negotiations over the final details broke down. According to journalist Micky Jnr, no agreement was reached between Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Al Ittihad, his parent club.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker will now head back the other way, rejoining the Libyan giants.
