Transfer market: Leao – Rúben Dias, the surprise swap?

The transfer window could see a spectacular move unfold. According to Sport Mediaset, Jorge Mendes is reportedly trying to orchestrate a swap deal involving Rafael Leão and Rúben Dias, with AC Milan set to add a cash sum to the proposal.

Leao still set to leave

Rafael Leao, 27, has been on the market for several weeks. The Portuguese star, under contract with Milan until 2028, is said to be eager for a new challenge.

The sticking point remains his price tag. The Rossoneri are reportedly demanding around €50 million plus bonuses, but so far no club has met these conditions. Mendes' idea is therefore to include Leao in a potential operation with Manchester City.

Rúben Dias on Milan's radar

In return, Milan would like to bring in Rúben Dias, who is also represented by Jorge Mendes. The 29-year-old Portuguese defender is under contract with Manchester City until 2029. His profile fits the needs of AC Milan perfectly.

Despite the arrival of Mario Gila from Lazio, new manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly keen to further bolster his central defense. On the other side, Manchester City will have to carefully assess the proposal before considering letting go of a defensive stalwart who joined from Benfica in 2020.
