Transfer market: Serge Aurier heading to a surprising destination!

Without a club since his departure from Galatasaray in the summer of 2024, Serge Aurier could soon make a comeback. At nearly 33 years old, the tireless Ivorian full-back is attracting growing interest... from across the Atlantic.

Indeed, despite a long period of inactivity, the profile of the two-time African champion (2015, 2024) remains in demand. The former PSG, Villarreal, and Nottingham Forest player maintains a solid reputation, particularly due to his leadership and extensive international experience.

According to Africafoot, two MLS clubs – San Diego FC and Real Salt Lake – are reportedly in talks with Aurier's camp. The negotiations are progressing rapidly, as the transfer window in Major League Soccer closes on April 23.

Serge Aurier targets the 2025 AFCON in Morocco!

A return to competition would be a boon for the former Elephants captain, who still aims for a spot in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. Regaining club form is essential to hope for a national team recall.

While a Mexican option was mentioned, MLS seems to be leading the race. San Diego seeks to rely on veterans, while Salt Lake aims to secure its right flank.

The coming days will be decisive. Aurier is ready. The ball is in his court.
