Transfer: Who are Al Ahly’s new signings for the 2026–2027 season?

Al Ahly has significantly strengthened its squad during the summer transfer window ahead of the 2026–2027 season. The Egyptian club has wrapped up its recruitment drive with several reinforcements, aiming to assemble a team capable of competing on all fronts.

The Cairo giants have officially unveiled the arrival of Tawfik Mohamed, the left-back from Petrojet, who has signed a five-year deal. This marks Al Ahly’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.

Tawfik Mohamed comes in to fill the void left by Moroccan international Youssef Belammari, who suffered a torn ACL.

Other summer recruits include Moroccans Soufiane Benjedida and Moncef Bekrar, as well as Egyptians Mahmoud Salah, Aqtay Abdallah, and Ali Mahmoud.

Al Ahly has also welcomed back Akram Tawfiq, who returns to the club following his stint with Al-Shamal in Qatar.

In an official statement released on its social media accounts, Al Ahly confirmed the signing of Tawfik Mohamed.

The club specifically stated:

Al Ahly has announced the signing of Tawfik Mohamed, left-back from Petrojet, on a five-season contract. Essam Serageldin, head of recruitment, finalized all financial and administrative procedures in coordination with Wael Gomaa, sporting director.

Al Ahly gears up for a clash with FC Barcelona

Al Ahly is currently continuing its preseason preparations with a training camp in Spain.

The Egyptian side has already played two friendly matches, defeating Badalona (3–0) before falling to Europa FC (2–1).

Al Ahly’s squad now faces a major challenge as they prepare to take on FC Barcelona on Wednesday, August 19, at Spotify Camp Nou, in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
