Transfer window: Bernardo Silva close to joining Real Madrid
Bernardo Silva is on the verge of signing with Real Madrid. A two-year contract with an option for an additional season is currently under discussion. According to sources close to the negotiations, the deal was accelerated and finalized within just 36 hours by Madrid's management.
Long linked with a move to FC Barcelona, the Portuguese midfielder had also been rumored to be nearing Atlético Madrid in recent days. However, Real Madrid ultimately outpaced their rivals in the final hours of the transfer window. The influence of José Mourinho is also said to have played a significant role in Silva’s decision, with the player reportedly giving his final approval.
At the same time, Real Madrid is continuing a major overhaul of its squad, with the arrivals of Dumfries, Konaté, and Endrick, as well as the return of several other players. Meanwhile, the departures of Alaba and Carvajal lighten the wage bill, but the squad has now reached the maximum quota of 25 players.
The Merengues will now have to sell before making any further signings, confirming a strategy focused on balance and strict squad management.
