Transfer: Wolfsburg open to Amoura departure
VfL Wolfsburg has reportedly opened the door for the departure of their Algerian international striker Mohamed Amine Amoura during this summer transfer window.
Wolfsburg ready to part ways with Mohamed Amoura this summer
Amoura was again absent during the second round of Bundesliga 2, in which Wolfsburg secured a victory away at Hannover (1-0).
The Algerian forward is still not fully recovered from a thigh injury he picked up with the Fennecs during the last World Cup. This injury is currently preventing him from returning to action with his club.
After Wolfsburg's relegation to the second division, Amoura is among the players expected to leave the club. Dieter Hecking, who managed the team last season, has confirmed that several key players are affected by this situation.
"Amoura is currently on the list of players for sale, along with several other regular starters from last season," Hecking told the daily Braunschweiger Zeitung.
He added: "Based on the information I have right now, Amoura will not be part of our squad for the new season."
Under contract with Wolfsburg until June 2029, the Algerian striker is reportedly being monitored by several clubs, including Stuttgart in Germany and Benfica in Portugal. At this stage, however, negotiations have yet to result in any official offers.
