Tunisia has selected Moein Chaâbani to usher in a new era after a particularly eventful 2026 World Cup campaign.

The Tunisian Football Federation has finally found a successor to Hervé Renard. After weeks of uncertainty, Moein Chaâbani will indeed leave RS Berkane to take charge of the Carthage Eagles.

The Moroccan club officially announced on Thursday the departure of its coach, who was under contract until June 2027. They also noted that they had accepted the FTF’s request, which had already made two previous attempts to lure the Tunisian tactician: “Given the special significance of the position of national team coach, as well as the patriotic duty involved in answering the call of one’s country and serving the national team, RS Berkane has shown understanding towards this request.”

Chaâbani leaves Berkane after two and a half highly successful years. With his experience and deep knowledge of Tunisian football, the former Espérance de Tunis coach now faces the hefty task of rebuilding a squad left shaken by its turbulent World Cup journey.
