Tunisian league: How is Espérance de Tunis planning to build a dream team?
Espérance de Tunis continues to be active in the transfer market as the club prepares for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
The Tunisian giants are aiming to reclaim their crown in the domestic league and reignite their quest for CAF Champions League glory.
The Blood and Gold have sparked a revolution in their squad during this transfer window, signing several stars in hopes of building a true dream team.
8 Signings
Espérance de Tunis has secured eight new signings during the current transfer window, including five local players, a dual-nationality player, and two foreign professionals.
The list of arrivals features players from the Tunisian national team: central defender Raed Chikhaoui and defensive midfielder Mohamed Belhaj Mahmoud.
The club also brought in goalkeeper Montassar Saïd, left winger Youssef Bacha, and central defender Marouane Sahraoui.
The Tunisian capital club also succeeded in signing forward Adel Bettaieb, a standout at Romanian club Argeș, as well as winger Mael Fernandez Monyebe, a new call-up for the Cameroon national team.
Most recently, the club wrapped up the signing of Peru international Jesus Castillo, the former Universitario midfielder.
3 Deals on the Horizon
In recent hours, Espérance management has ramped up efforts to finalize three more signings.
The main target is Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, who is close to terminating his contract with Al-Ittihad (Libya), paving the way for an official move to the Tunisian giants.
The club is also in advanced talks to sign two more players—whose identities remain undisclosed—set to fill the winger and left-back positions, according to Radio Mosaique FM.
It’s worth noting that the Red and Yellow will kick off their season on August 22, facing Étoile du Sahel in the opening round of the domestic league.
