U17 Women's World Cup: Ghana drawn in Group C with Brazil and Canada
After a hard-fought qualification, Ghana is back in the U17 Women's World Cup. In the draw, the Black Maidens have landed in a challenging Group C alongside three of the giants of women's football.
The qualification was clinched on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Accra. After a 1-1 draw in Dakar in the first leg, Ghana again played to a 1-1 draw in the return match against Senegal.
It all came down to penalties to decide the outcome. Mentally tougher and spurred on by their home crowd, the Black Maidens triumphed 7-6 to punch their ticket to the tournament. This will be Ghana's seventh appearance in the finals, their first since reaching the quarterfinals in 2018.
In Group C, Ghana will have to raise their game. They face global powerhouses including Brazil, Canada, and Norway.
