U20 AFCON qualifiers: 6 countries competing for two spots in the UNIFFAC zone
The draw for the UNIFFAC tournament qualifying for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations was held this Monday, October 5, in Yaoundé. Six nations will compete from October 12 to 24 for two places at the 2027 U20 AFCON, scheduled to be held in Ghana.
DR Congo put their title on the line
Defending champions after their 2024 triumph in Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of the Congo will put their trophy on the line. This year, the competition has expanded with the arrival of Chad, bringing the number of participants to six. The U20 Leopards are the top seeds in Group B. Gabon and the Republic of the Congo complete the group.
Cameroon, the host nation
On home soil, Cameroon's U20 team is also among the tournament favourites. The U20 Lions share Group A with Chad and the Central African Republic.
Two spots at stake
The two finalists of the tournament will represent Central Africa at the 2027 Ghana U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
