The Champions League will also serve up an unexpected showdown between FK Bodø/Glimt and Sporting CP in the round of 16. The Norwegian side will host the first leg on March 10, 2026, at Aspmyra Stadion, before traveling to Lisbon for the return on March 17. It's a clash between this season’s surprise package and a Portuguese team well-versed in European competition.

Bodø/Glimt have been turning heads with their spectacular run. The Norwegians have already knocked out Manchester City and Atlético de Madrid in the group stage before eliminating Inter Milan in the playoffs. Sporting CP, meanwhile, is enjoying a strong season in Portugal, sitting second with 58 points and riding a positive streak in the league.

Despite the Norwegian fairytale, projections give Sporting a slight edge to qualify, with about a 54% chance compared to 46% for Bodø/Glimt. The Portuguese side will have the advantage of playing the second leg at home, while the Norwegians are counting on their formidable Aspmyra Stadion fortress to pull off another upset.
