Silent in the first leg, despite Galatasaray’s emphatic 5-2 victory over Juventus in Turkey, Victor Osimhen finally found the net on Wednesday night in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off tie.

The Nigerian striker put his team back on track at the end of the first extra time (105+2’), reducing the deficit to 3-1. The Istanbul club then moved ahead of the Old Lady before Yilmaz put the result beyond doubt with a second goal in the 118th minute.

The former Napoli striker’s goal was his sixth in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase. This brings him closer to the Top 5 African scorers at this stage, with only Algerian Riyad Mahrez and Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor ahead of him.
