Valencia are genuinely interested in signing Jerome Opoku!

While the winter transfer window remains open, Valencia CF is already laying the groundwork for a significant summer defensive reinforcement, with their sights set on Ghanaian international Jerome Opoku.

According to sources close to the player, the Spanish club, currently 17th in La Liga, has initiated contact with Istanbul Basaksehir regarding the 27-year-old defender. Valencia's board is reportedly prepared to meet the Turkish club's asking price of €8 million to secure his services.

The proposed deal would see Opoku, who joined Basaksehir in June 2024 on a contract running until 2027, sign a four-year agreement at the Mestalla with an annual salary approaching €2.75 million. This move comes amid reported interest from Premier League sides Fulham and Nottingham Forest, highlighting the defender's growing profile. With a current market value estimated at €5 million, Valencia's potential investment signifies their serious intent to bolster their backline ahead of the next campaign.
