Video : Victor Osimhen's hat-trick against Ajax (Champions League)
Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray's prolific striker, once again lit up the European stage as he led his team to a resounding victory over Ajax Amsterdam (3-0) on Wednesday night, during Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League (2025/2026 season).
Osimhen stole the show by netting a hat-trick in the 59th, 66th, and 78th minutes, becoming the first player in Galatasaray's history to score more than one goal in two consecutive Champions League matches, following his brace against Bodo/Glimt in the previous round.
Osimhen closing in on Cristiano Ronaldo's record
The Nigerian forward continues his remarkable run in Europe, having found the net in eight consecutive Champions League games. He is now just three matches shy of the record held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in 11 straight fixtures in the competition.
With this hat-trick, Osimhen now leads the Champions League top scorers chart with six goals, edging out Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland by a single strike.
In the UEFA Champions League group stage standings, Galatasaray now has 9 points and sits in 9th place, while Ajax Amsterdam remains pointless.
