The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) is pulling out all the stops to strengthen the Leopards' squad ahead of upcoming competitions.

The latest target for the governing body of Congolese football is none other than Matthieu Epolo, the goalkeeper for Standard Liège.
Here are five things to know about the last line of defense for the “Rouches”.
- Born in Belgium to Congolese parents, he is eligible to represent both the “Red Devils” and the Leopards.
- He began his football education at Anderlecht before joining another Belgian giant in 2019 at the age of 14.
- He was promoted to the Standard Liège first team in 2021 after impressing with the U18 squad.
- In 42 matches with the Rouches’ senior side, he has conceded 53 goals and kept just 13 clean sheets.
- His market value is estimated at 4 million euros, according to the specialist website Transfermarkt.
