Why will Cristiano Ronaldo miss Al-Nassr's first two matches?
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr's forward, is set to miss his team's opening two games of the season, including the away clash against Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.
Cristiano Ronaldo delays his return to Al-Nassr
According to the Saudi daily Arriyadiyah, the all-time top scorer of the Portuguese national team will be granted a few extra days of rest following his participation in the 2026 World Cup. As a result, he will not be included in Al-Nassr's squad for the first two official matches of the season.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has used this break to celebrate his marriage to Georgina Rodríguez. He is expected to rejoin Al-Nassr's training sessions in the coming days to prepare for his return to competitive action.
The Saudi club will therefore be without its captain for the league opener against Al-Fateh, and will also have to make do without him in the King Cup round of 32 tie against Al-Diriyah.
It's worth noting that CR7 is now just a few goals shy of the symbolic 1,000 career goals milestone. Over his extraordinary journey, he has scored for Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr, and, of course, the Portuguese national team.
