Will James Eto’o have a new experience?
Ludogorets Razgrad have set their sights on Cameroonian midfielder James Eto'o. The 25-year-old could be on his way out of CSKA Sofia this summer, with a move to Bulgaria's most successful club now a real possibility. Talks between the parties involved have already begun.
Enjoying a stellar season so far—having scored 4 goals and provided 8 assists—Eto'o appears ready to take on a fresh challenge on Bulgarian soil. A product of FC Nantes' youth system, the Cameroon international is no stranger to the local league, having previously played for Botev Plovdiv and CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria.
Although his current contract with CSKA Sofia runs until 2027, Ludogorets—who have a track record of snapping up the league's top talents—could well secure the services of the Yaoundé native if negotiations move forward.
A versatile midfielder capable of operating box-to-box and making an impact in both penalty areas, Eto'o could add real quality and depth to Ludogorets' engine room.
That said, the Bulgarian giants are expected to face competition from several other clubs, most notably Red Star Belgrade. Last summer, as Africafoot exclusively reported, James Eto'o was also a target for Maccabi Netanya.
