William Gallas warns Arsenal about signing Victor Osimhen

In their relentless pursuit of a long-awaited star striker, Arsenal are casting a wide net to land a true attacking reference point. While the names Viktor Gyökeres and Benjamin Šeško have been making the rounds with growing insistence, Victor Osimhen is now attracting the attention of the London club’s hierarchy. Yet, this growing excitement is far from unanimous.

Former Gunners captain William Gallas has voiced his doubts about the move, highlighting several factors that, in his view, should make Arsenal proceed with caution. According to the former French international, the Nigerian striker may not be the optimal fit for the club’s ambitions.

“Victor Osimhen is a top-class striker, but I can see him clashing with Mikel Arteta,” Gallas, now 47, told Prime Casino.

Rather than rushing for Osimhen, who racked up 37 goals this season with Galatasaray across all competitions, Gallas suggests looking at other profiles he feels are more suitable.

“Viktor Gyökeres would be a better fit, but Arsenal have to win the Premier League next season, which means they need to sign Alexander Isak. Isak is perfect for Arsenal, and the club should do everything to bring him in. He would adapt instantly and give them the best chance to win the title out of any player in the world—they don’t have time to let a striker settle. Arsenal should break the bank for Isak,” insists the former Gunners defender.

Victor Osimhen, meanwhile, remains a highly sought-after star. Since the opening of the summer transfer window, European and Saudi giants have continually tabled offers and proposals to secure the Nigerian’s signature, who remains under contract with Napoli.
