In a packed and electrifying stadium in Rabat, Michaely Bihina was simply unbeatable. Named Player of the Match for the second consecutive time, the Indomitable Lionesses’ shot-stopper revealed after the Women's AFCON semi-final the secret to her performance against Morocco: meticulous preparation.

"I knew I had to stop at least three"

The Benfica goalkeeper left nothing to chance.

When it comes to penalties, I studied throughout the tournament how the Moroccan players took their shots. I told myself that if it came down to a shootout, I had to save at least three. I stopped the first penalty during the match and thought, if it goes to penalties, I can do even better.

Absolutely staggering numbers

Bihina is writing the greatest chapter of her career. Against Nigeria in the quarter-finals, 9 saves and Player of the Match. Against Morocco in the semis, 7 saves, 4 penalties stopped, and again Player of the Match. After 5 matches: 3 clean sheets and only 2 goals conceded.

Cameroon leans on its wall for the final

On Sunday, the Lionesses will face Malawi for the title. With a goalkeeper brimming with confidence, who reads penalty-takers and never doubts herself, Cameroon has its strongest asset. With Michaely Bihina between the posts, the Indomitable Lionesses can dream of their first ever Women's AFCON crown.
