Women's AFCON 2026: Pascal Sawadogo unveils Burkina Faso squad

The head coach of Burkina Faso's Stallions Ladies, Pascal Sawadogo, has officially announced his 28-player squad for the 2026 Women's AFCON in Morocco.

The delegation has already arrived at its training base in Casablanca during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, July 16. The team will continue preparations ahead of the tournament kickoff.

The squad features 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 8 midfielders, and 8 forwards. It's a blend of stars from the Burkinabè championship and internationals playing in Europe and across Africa.

The major absentee is Pascaline Sawadogo, USFA goalkeeper and the top shot-stopper in the national league.

Burkina Faso have been drawn in Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, and South Africa. The Stallions Ladies will kick off their campaign on July 27, 2026, against Côte d’Ivoire's Elephants.

After a historic debut in 2022, the Stallions Ladies return to the continental stage with their sights set on advancing beyond the group phase.
