World Cup 2026: Cape Verde to set up base camp in Tampa

Newcomers to the global stage, Cape Verde have selected their base camp for the 2026 World Cup. The Cape Verdean squad will settle in Tampa, training at the Waters SportsPlex throughout the duration of the tournament.

Set to arrive on June 8, the team led by Bubista will make full use of the Tampa Bay Rowdies' facilities to prepare for their upcoming challenges. This first-ever World Cup appearance marks a pivotal moment in Cape Verdean football history. Thanks to a stellar qualifying campaign, the Blue Sharks have earned their spot among the 48 nations competing in this expanded edition of the tournament.
