World Cup 2026: Eduardo Camavinga reacts after being left out of the France squad
Eduardo Camavinga’s omission from France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup continues to spark widespread reactions. Just hours after the official announcement, the French midfielder took to Instagram to voice his disappointment, while also showing his unwavering support for Les Bleus.
Eduardo Camavinga has responded to his exclusion from the French national team for the 2026 World Cup. In a message filled with emotion and dignity, the Stade Rennais academy product acknowledged the pain of missing out on selection.
“This wasn’t the news I was hoping for, but that’s football. Of course it hurts, especially knowing what this shirt means,” he wrote.
A disappointment hard to swallow
Eduardo Camavinga had been considered one of the pillars of France’s new generation. His absence from the final squad is therefore one of the biggest surprises from the manager. Despite this setback, the Real Madrid CF midfielder chose a unifying tone over controversy.
The player made it clear he would fully support his teammates throughout the tournament.
“I’ll be supporting and cheering the team from home every step of the way,” he added, before wishing the best to those selected for the World Cup.
In the remainder of his message, the French international sent his encouragement to the group chosen to represent France.
“I wish my brothers all the best for the World Cup. Make the country proud and bring it home,” he urged, accompanied by French flag and World Cup trophy emojis.
Far from letting this bring him down, Eduardo Camavinga ended his message with a promise of determination.
I will keep working, keep fighting, and come back stronger,” the French midfielder declared.
