World Cup 2026: Mexico unveils its 26-man squad

Mexico has released its list of 26 players selected for the 2026 World Cup. As co-hosts of the tournament alongside the United States and Canada, Mexico will rely on a squad that blends seasoned veterans with promising young talent.

In goal, veteran Guillermo Ochoa is joined by Raul Rangel and Carlos Acevedo. In defense, the coach has called up the likes of Edson Álvarez—capable of playing both centrally and in midfield—along with Johan Vásquez, César Montes, Jorge Sánchez, and Jesús Gallardo.

The midfield will be anchored by players like Orbelín Pineda, Luis Chávez, Luis Romo, and Álvaro Fidalgo. Up front, Mexico will count on the finishing prowess of Santiago Giménez, Raúl Jiménez, Julián Quiñones, and Roberto Alvarado. Drawn into Group A, Mexico will face South Africa, South Korea, and the Czech Republic, determined to make a memorable run in front of their home crowd.
